Well I don't really know what attracted me to this book but it is called "The Haunted Hound.", basically the book is about a dog who brings the boy and his father together. The fox hound's name is Pot Likker and he is the son of Old Blue, a famous fox hunting hound. Everyone else believed he had no instincts, zip, zero, goose egg, but Jonathan Barrett came back to the farm where he had lived.
John expected to find his old house deserted but he was faced by a pack of hounds and a girl who wanted to run him off of his own property. Of course Pot Likker refused all advances by Mr. Worth and his niece Judy for when he was just a pup he refused to trust anyone. Of course when Judy and John discovered they both had a love of dogs, hunting and fishing that by going on a coon hunt with Judy and Mr. Worth that Pot adopted Jon.
The circumstances around Pot's adoption of Jon are that on Friday he got to the farm and he discovered that Mr. Worth and Judy have gone on a coon hunt, or in other words a possum hunt. Of course John didn't catch up to Mr. Worth and Judy and so he had to camp the night catching only a bass for supper. That's when Pot Likker comes and wakes Jon out of a deep sleep, that Jon gradually gained some of  Pot's trust throughout the night by the fire.
Pot was a one man dog because he choose John because he loved him, and didn’t care for anyone else. I think that it is because Pot and Jon are both lonely, and they are both outsiders.   If you want to read more, just check it out from the public library.

  1. I'm glad you chose to write about one of the books you're reading. Go back into the draft icon and space this out into paragraphs for me. Also, can you add a picture here? Maybe you can find the book cover on the internet and paste it here? Just an idea.
